Freeheel skiing - where it all began

Telemark Skiing is enjoying a worldwide surge in popularity and is arguably the most enjoyable and challenging form of snow riding.

Wilderness Sports are Australia's Freeheel experts. This expertise and skill has been recognised by the Perisher Ski Schools by having Wilderness Sports develop and instruct a range of Backcountry Freeheel lessons and programs. Our instructors are APSI qualified (some are also Trainers), dynamic and dedicated to improve your telemark & Freeheel Skiing to new levels.
Perisher Ski School now do the resort Telemark lessons so bookings are recommended with Ski School. Our store in Perisher (and Jindabyne) is the only hire in Perisher and Smiggins with Telemark ski rentals as well as Demo's.

Lesson and Tour Times
We can arrange programs for small groups or individuals keen to develop skills and dial in the technique to become a more versatile skier in the variable snow conditions and other terrain only found in the backcountry.

Clinics and Skills Workshops
Targeting specific areas of Freeheel Skiing, these are designed to improve your skiing to new levels. Techniques are learnt that are required to ski various snow conditions and terrain. Clinics involve analysis & technical information about your skiing and the latest developments in equipment that are shaping the Freeheel world.

  • Variable Snow/ Deep Snow 3 Hours $149/person
  • Steeps 3 Hours $149/person
  • Freeskiing Techniques 3 Hours $149/person

    Night Skiing.
    Come play with other budding freeheel skiers "switching" from Alpine or snowboards or just hang out for some fun.
    Great chance to play with the "dark side".
  • Lift passes for Night Skiing for 2010 are ONLY $26 for over 3 hours of skiing! FREE if you already have a VALID day pass. (Tuesday & Saturdays from 6.00 to 9.00 pm *Conditions permitting)

    Performance Package
    Test drive the latest telemark skis, bindings and boots. This cost will be deducted from the purchase price giving you a chance to really test out what you may prefer and suits your skiing.

    On Snow location at Perisher. Other outlet for skiers going Backcountry or to Thredbo from our main Jindabyne store.
  • Choose from Atomic, Rossignol, Black Diamond skis. Garmont Excursion, Veloce, Genesis & Evo boots.
  • Hammerhead, BD O2 & O3, Linken, G3 Targa & Roxy, Bomber bindings.
